Old Friends

Marshall J. was a Sociology professor of mine and Scott's when we were both attending UW-Superior, with me majoring in Sociology, and Scott majoring in both Sociology and Biology. Scott and I both worked for Marshall at different times, and it was during our work with him that we developed a close friendship with him. It would be difficult to not be friends with this man, as he has truly been an inspiration to me and Scott in our lives. Often when we have a big decision to make in our lives we ponder what Marshall would think and what he would want for us.

Ever since we started our family Marshall has been involved in our children's lives, and our kids lovingly refer to him as "Uncle Marshall", and they feel much the same about Marshall's wonderful wife, Gloria. We don't get to see them anywhere near as often as we would like, as they live very busy lives that include a lot of traveling and time spent with their grandchildren, but when we do see them the conversation always flows with ease and they always take time to play with the kids.

We were able to see Marshall and Gloria yesterday when they came for dinner. We drank way too much wine (three bottles between the four of us!) and fun was had by all. Here is a photo of Marshall playing with the kids on the slide, which he did for about 1/2 an hour, and the kids loved every minute of it!

About Me

My photo
More than anything this blog is for us; for our own little family. As the days and months and years pass by we find ourselves forgetting many of the wonderful times that our family has shared. This blog is our way of documenting and helping us to remember.
