First, I saw my rheum again today. My tests were all negative for RA, which is of course very good. I didn't think that I had it, but it is nice to know that I have confirmation of it's absence in my body. Pretty much he thinks that I have Fibromyalgia. However, after a lot of reading over the past few days I am leaning towards my symptoms being related to my hypothyroidism. I take Synthroid and my levels are all fine, but I am trying to convince my internist to switch me to Amour Thyroid to see if that makes any difference. Thus far I haven't been able to her to make the switch for me (I have no clue why), but I am going to keep working on that. I am also starting a trial of Tramadol, which is a pain relief medication often used for people with Fibromyalgia. We'll see how it goes. I go back to the rheum in May to let him know how I am doing with the Tramadol.
In other, more fun news, I have a couple of funny Coen stories from this morning that I just have to share. Actually, it is just one story, but two separate incidents. Am I making any sense?
Anyway, so I was sitting on the couch this morning with my feet up on the coffee table. Coen walked by and must have noticed for the first time that I have a tattoo on my left ankle. He sort of looked at it for a few seconds before batting it, as if he was trying to figure out what it was. He then walked off into the kitchen. Moments later he was back with his cup of milk in one hand and a plastic gardening tool in the other. For the next ten minutes or so Coen alternated between sprinkling milk on my tattoo, scraping at it with the gardening tool, and watching TV. I am pretty sure that he thought my leg was dirty and I believe that he was trying to be helpful by attempting to clean it off for me. Isn't he a sweetheart?
Once he finished trying to fix my leg he went back into the kitchen and I went to work cleaning up all of the milk off of the floor that had missed my leg during the leg cleaning event. After I got it wiped up I walked into the kitchen to find Coen holding a liter vodka bottle. Now don't worry, the bottle was empty and had been in the recycling bag, therefore he did not drink any, so please refrain from calling CPS on me. However, he had his milk cup open and was holding the bottle over his cup, apparently trying to pour himself a drink. He was looking mighty frustrated that nothing would come out of the bottle. Mind you, I am pretty sure that he did not know it was vodka, so he wasn't acting like me trying to get the last drops out to fix myself another screwdriver when I have already had four too many. At least I hope that wasn't the case.
OK, that has been my day. Tonight I am firing up the grill to make hamburgers for the first time since last fall. Could I BE anymore excited? There are few things better than a grilled burger. To make dinner even more fabulous I am using ground beef from a local farm given to me by my very sweet and generous neighbor. After a discussion that she and I had yesterday about buying beef from this particular farm (which she and her husband buy from) she dropped by with 4 lbs. of ground beef, a chuck roast, and two strip steaks for us. I love having cool neighbors. Now if my other neighbor would finally get all of her plastic outdoor Christmas decorations put away I'd be a happy girl.

About Me

- The Finn Family
- More than anything this blog is for us; for our own little family. As the days and months and years pass by we find ourselves forgetting many of the wonderful times that our family has shared. This blog is our way of documenting and helping us to remember.

Are you sure Coen didn't start "cleaning" your leg after the vodka bottle incident lol!! Just kidding! That's just too funny.
Hey, you never know! LOL
Hey - thought you would get away from me. Your blog is great.
I read your first paragraph and want you to know that my endo added Cytomel to my Synthroid. She is adamant that it must be name brand Synthroid too. When she added the Cytomel I actually started feeling a world better after a couple of weeks. I also have quit gaining weight back and I'm beginning to drop a pound or two now and then. My eyesight is slightly improved. So, you could be right and if necessary, find a good endo to take care of the thyroid.
